One of the guiding principles of the North American Competitive Beard and Moustache Alliance is to donate profits from competitions to charities. 100% of the proceeds raised from the GABMC are donated to them. The recipient charities for this competition are two excellent organizations - one national and one local to the host club. We encourage you to visit their sites to learn more about their missions and the great work they do.
NATIONAL CHARITY: THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES
Our national charity is the The Humane Society of the United States (nominated by the Emerald City Beardos Seattle), the nation’s largest animal protection organization, rated most effective by their peers.
For more than 60 years, they have celebrated the protection of all animals and confronted all forms of cruelty. They are the nation’s largest provider of hands-on services for animals, caring for more than 100,000 animals each year, and we prevent cruelty to millions more through our advocacy campaigns. You can also volunteer for The HSUS, and see their 55 ways you can help animals at humanesociety.org.
LOCAL CHARITY: THE PINK INK FUND
Our local charity is the Pink Ink Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Richmond that assists post-mastectomy BRCA-diagnosed and breast cancer patients with reconstructive, restorative, and recovery tattooing.
They assist both male and female patients to provide an important part of their full physical and emotional recovery.
